Since 1981, LEX/Hippo Family Club members have enjoyed sharing languages from all around the world. Both adults and children can learn to speak any number of languages when they use the same process they used to acquire their own native languages.

What you can do if you become a member
At Hippo Family Club, we enjoy learning “multiple languages” naturally through our daily environment and experiences. Our membership-based activities are open to everyone—parents and children, students, and working adults.
As a member, you can create a multilingual environment at home and participate in our weekly multilingual gatherings called “Families.” You can join any Family, anytime, anywhere, and as many times as you like—no reservations or cancellations needed! Whether you’re traveling for work or staying at your parents’ home, you can come and go freely.
Members also receive exclusive announcements about hosting international students at home and opportunities for overseas homestays.

How to join
If you are interested in joining, we recommend attending a free trial session first.

Families are more than welcome to join! We offer a family-friendly fee system.

At the LEX / Hippo, everyone gets to enjoy the fun of multilingual experiences together.

Student Membership (High School & University)
The LEX / Hippo a special membership program for high school students, university students, and vocational school students who want to participate in multilingual activities on their own or with siblings. You can enjoy the benefits of our Student Special Membership for as long as you remain a student.
Eligibility: Students aged 25 or younger enrolled in high school, university, junior college, or vocational/technical programs.

Membership System for exchange students and Residents
In Hippo we have a special membership for exchange students and people residing in Japan who are not Japanese citizens (the membership only applies to the time that one resides in Japan). If you are interested in joining the Hippo Family Club, please give your contact information to a local representative of a club.
Have you joined the Hippo before？
Former members who have left the Hippo Family Club for any reason can rejoin without paying the enrollment fee.
